Internet Problems

Regular readers will already know that here, in the wilds of Lincolnshire, we sometimes have poor internet service - overhead cables, lots of trees, sleepy BT, etc.   The wild winds earlier in the week seem to have caused our current problem.  We have slow and intermittent connection to the internet -  worse than when we used to have the old dial-up system, pages take forever to load, disappear into the ether, etc.

I will respond to all your lovely comments to my previous post, once I can be sure my responses will reach the blog.

At least I have been able to save this post, so even if the first attempt drifts off to nowhere I won't have to re-type.

Fingers crossed we get it fixed soon.

  1. This must be so frustrating for you, I get annoyed when mine is a bit slow. My son lives in remote Scotland and has a lot of trouble with BT. Lets hope you soon get sorted.

    1. We now have internet access, Briony - trouble is that it is 'lumpy'!

  2. Yup! My emails have been doing lots of strange things. I assumed that the whole system was overloaded with folk using it far more than usual? Maybe? I struggle at the best of times, limping along without really having a clue... story of my life really!

    Keep well darling girl.

    1. Thanks, Linda. We are still limited, some pages won't load, other things disappear never to return. The latest gadget has helped - marginally but it tends to throw hissy fits. Ho hum!

  3. I thought once I left Lincolnshire all would be well but if anything it is even worse these days.

  4. Good luck with getting it sorted. Think we are spoiled here in a way with fast connections. My son is working from home on his work PC so really needs it. The wifi I use on my laptop is more of a problem

    1. Hello Billy, Sounds as though you have our share, too!! Today's connection seems a little faster than yesterday - now I just need it to stay connected.

  5. Good luck with your connection. Very few problems where I live.

  6. A satellite connection would be your best bet, but, unfortunately, the initial outlay (dish etc) is quite expensive.

    1. Hello Cro, Fingers crossed, it seems a little better today. At least I haven't had to watch the circle go round, endlessly, while I wait for a page to load - that's real progress!

  7. I'm amazed that you have problems like that, it's not as though you live out in the back of beyond, I get p****d off with Virgin Media at times over problems but I put it down to the amount of people on line and the facet my Son has his work PC at home using it 24/7
