Felled, by a Feather-weight!

Day one of the new year was fun and laughter-packed as we had all three of our children, and their children, here.     By the end of the day I was happy, but worn out, and my back was protesting.   It was worth it.

Day two began well enough.   Increasing back pain soon had me on the floor doing my back exercises.      The feather-weight flower fairy, who lives next door, came bursting in, full of some little story which she wanted to share with me.    She skidded on the floor and landed 'smack' on my ribs, left side.

Her horrified face made me try to scrabble upright, to reassure her that I was alright - trouble was that I was winded - and I didn't know whether I was alright.   As soon as I could talk, I told her not to worry, I was fine. then I slowly took myself away to find out whether it was true!

I am relieved to say there are no bones broken, just severe bruising, which doesn't sound so bad, until I try to move.

My apologies for not having time to answer your lovely comments, I will get around to it, in a day or two, when things settle down a little.

  1. Have you had it checked out Elaine? Silly me I suppose Dr Parsonage Cottage aka Elaine did a little light self examination and came to that bruised but nothing broken diagnosis? Nobody but nobody is indispensable so best you get your lovely family to look after you like you do them... Stern words... and we’re only on the third day of the new decade...Ooooooooh!

  5. Oh my! I hope you start to mend soon. Your family gathering sounded lovely but that sort of thing does wear a body out (I speak from experience 🤪 ).

  6. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

"One thing, on top of another..." Those words certainly fit here....

Please have it checked out. I know, not much to do for ribs. But still, we really should pay-more-attention to "hurts," the older we get.

And as to replying to every comment you get.... Why? -smile-

Because you chose to do so, I know.<--Mind my own business!!!! -grin-

    Gentle, gentle hugs...

  12. Ah - the THUNDERFOOT Flower Fairy - not a good one to have a collision with. So sorry you are feeling sore and bruised so hope you can rest up with a good book. Have you tried Arnica?

  14. Hope the initial shock has now worn off and the pain will too. We have had our two grandchildren staying a couple of nights and both have managed to fall against something and acquire a bruise. The younger one does not know her own strength and regularly lashes out with some toy in her hand to give you a whack. You have to be quick to dodge it. x
