Mrs Mopp is Out and About
I promised to help out a friend this morning. Her niece is getting married in a small local church and as it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned for many a year, she had volunteered to do the job... of course I offered to help. Just as well, we have to go back for another shift this evening.
I couldn't resist getting on a Mrs Mopp outfit. Please note, I do not smoke, nor do I wear a turban - though I rather wished I had kept it on this morning, the spiders and falling plaster played havoc with my hair - I just thought the turban and (faux) cigarette added a little something to the image. Sorry, Mrs Mopp.
This afternoon I am heading off to the village hall, with tea and cake for the village elders. More cleaning later.

haha-too funny!! And what a dear you are, to help out!
ReplyDeleteWe had fun - spiders didn't like it though!
DeleteI can only recall snatches of the old radio comedy show *ITMA, when they have been put on archive programmes (although husband is old enough to remember them) but surely there was a Mrs Mopp on that who used to say, "Can I do you now, Sir?" You have reminded me of this! *It's That Man Again!
ReplyDeleteMargaret P
Definitely something like that, Margaret. We worked hard - but the church is beginning to look wonderful.
DeleteYou are so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd so helpful...
You seem to be the go-to-person in the village. Which is probably the best way, to become a "real part" of the village! So you are not only cute, but smart. of course!!!!
It was hard work, but fun. This afternoon I learnt that Miss Read's mother used to clean the church - we both stepped up our efforts after that, didn't want to imagine her shaking her head at our poor efforts!
DeleteBrilliant. I can remember when lots of ladies wore those turbans, that's how old I am. lol.
ReplyDeleteI covet one of those lovely yellow duster. lol

How I wish I had kept it on - I was showered in spiders and cobwebs, damp plaster and grime! The duster is in dire need of a good clean itself, now!
Deleteor Andy Capps missus - was it Florrie?
ReplyDeleteWell done for all the cleaning
Spot on, Sue! I probably do look more like Florrie. We unearthed some interesting bits and pieces as we worked, had a few laughs, achieved a lot. Flowers get done on Friday, I'm looking forward to seeing the church then.
DeleteYou look just luvly , chuck!
ReplyDeleteI was muttering to my husband to hurry up taking the photograph - my paper ciggy was about to collapse!
DeleteVery funny! Hope the tea goes well. I know you'll have a good description of the goings ons for us.
ReplyDeleteThe tea party went very well - the older ladies loved the lace tray cloths, best china and the little touches. Thanks Marcia.
DeleteLove it. :) Enjoy that tea.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb. It was great fun!
DeleteDid not think you smoked but an effective look. Tea & cake sounds nice
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. No, never a smoker! The tea and cakes went down well.
