He is a pampered only child, I shudder to think what our two ruffian cats would make of him, best to keep them well apart so we visit him twice a day in his own home, Cowslip Cottage.
Visits usually start with him having a good old whinge and a series of complaints about abandonment, these are quickly silenced when I put down fresh food and water. Once his tummy has been filled he feels able to do a little light housework - uses that tail like a feather duster as he continues to grumble about the weather, the state of the country, general chit chat.
Half an hour of playtime, lots of conversation and some stroking turned him into a happy cat. Suddenly he took off and dived head first into his toy pile, practically doing a headstand in his search for a particular toy.
He emerged with this stick, apparently he had decided it was time for a little tooth cleaning session and the pleasures of catnip.
We left him contentedly hugging and licking his catnip stick, completely oblivious to us.
That is a cute fluffy kitty though I don't think my dogs would see it that way
ReplyDeleteOur dog would be fine with him, but he'd have to give him a jolly good sniffing, just to be sure. Somehow I don't think that would go down well. What kind of dogs do you have Bill?
DeleteWhat a divine furry man. And I love the word ruffian!
ReplyDeleteHello Franny and Danny, Thank you for visiting. He is a very handsome cat, my son and his wife rescued him from a Shanghai pet shop, he was a very sick little kitten. They have lavished him with lots of love and attention in the years since then, he now believes that he is a little Chinese Emperor!
DeleteHe certainly looks like a Maine Coon Cat.
DeleteWonder how ever he came to be found in a Shanghai pet shop? -sigh-
But so lucky he was found, and cared for!
What a gorgeous cat. Very fluffy though. Does he shed all that fur in the summer?
ReplyDeleteHe sheds all the time, Linda. Ming Ming grooms him every day, he submits with grace. I won't attempt to do it though, I know my place is bottom of the heap and he can get a little grumpy.
DeleteI do love Boy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember the story of how he came to become such a completely pampered and lucky kitty cat. :-)
And when he first came to your house, and could wonder at "Nature." Taking it in, in tiny sips, because he had not seen such wonders, before. :-)
Lucky, lucky Boy!!!
You are absolutely right, his small adventures in the garden were a delight to watch. The first time he felt the breeze ruffle his fur, sniffing at grass and flowers, everything was magical for him, Luna. The garden at Cowslip Cottage is a sea of mud at the moment, the whole place is being landscaped, so he only gets to watch from the window. In a couple of months he will have supervised freedom again, I bet he dreams of it!
DeleteHa Ha ..That’s the thing about cats... Once they get what they want ..It’s off to another self satisfying adventure ( hee hee).. but..O my isn’t he a handsome boy... and yes sometimes the temperament doesn’t go along with the beauty of the creature. however ,it’s pretty hard not to love them ...ENJOY you week ..Hugs
ReplyDeleteHello Zaa, He is very cute but reacts very differently from any cat that I have ever known. I haven't quite mastered his language yet! He is very vocal about everything, whereas my girls are loudest when they are demanding food - NOW! - though they also vocalise greetings.
DeleteHe's gorgeous, Elaine. I would love to care for him but would hate to have to leave. He looks a wee bit pampered. lol
